In China, if you are traveling alone or a backpackers and too tired of walking around the big city you may also rent a bicycle but don't bother of stealing it, I been told by our tour guild that a tracking device install at each of the bicycle.

before using the bikes you have to buy a special card from the booth counter
The people here mainly either using bicycle or motorcycle to move around the city and what interesting is that they had a special lane and no need to use helmet.
You don't have to return it to the same place you rent it, the bicycle rental service is the same around China. So you can return it at any station you arrive at your destinations.

Oh yes.. in China bicycles are like crazy.. I almost got run down by the cyclists there.. scared!
