Harbin Stalin Park, Flood Control Monument And Song Hua River

Flood Control Monument is another place we visit in Harbin, the monument is built to commemorate the tremendous feat of the Harbin people in controlling the massive flood of 1957.


The 13 m monument consists of one Roman-style column topped with statues and a 7-meter-long curving corridor surrounding the column. Eleven small, semi-circular pools near the column mark the water level reached by the flood.



More than four decades later, another flood broke the monument's record, so the site was updated to remember the victims of 1998's disastrous flood.

The Stalin Park

Next to the Flood Control Monument is The Stalin Park built in 1953 (Sidalin Gongyuan) and is named after the Russian dictator Joseph Stalin. Stands as evidence of the friendship between the world's two most powerful communist countries at that time.

It is simply a public park that the local Harbin people like to take part in leisure activities all year long.


The park features a spread of flowerbeds and trees.

KL Petaling Street At Night

Usually I would come to Petaling Street during the day time and seldom come during the night time and since I stay at The China Town Boutique is quite nearby so I decide to go have a walk around Petaling Street at night.

During the night Petaling Street night lanterns will be light up along the street





At this section the place is much smaller and very crowded as during the night traders will use the middle of the walk way to set up their stalls.

Ice Sculpture Display At Sun Island Park Harbin China

As Harbin is famous for it ice sculptures and since it not Ice and Snow Sculpture which is due in December we head to Sun Island Park to see the Ice sculpture.

Kedai Kopi Dan Ais Kacang Lorong Selamat Penang

We drop by Kedai Kopi dan Ais Kacang or other name Kedai Kopi Low Eng hoo coffee shop which is located at Lorong Selamat which is opposite Dr Sun Yet Sen Penang Memorial Centre...


the famous char kuey teow man with cool glasses, which remind me of the guy of the StarShip Enterprise


while we waiting for the char koay toew we also order cendol and ice kacang


after waiting for 15 or 20 minute the famous char kuey toew is serve usually we have to wait for an hour.



the plate with big 3 prawns, Chinese sausages and bean spouts and it yummy.... do drop by Lorong Selamat when you came to Penang.
