Inconjunction with the newly open Hoover Square, they are having an exhibition at the Masland Methodist Church Hoover Square when they show the history about the founder James Hoover in Sibu.
A Famosa is also known as The Porta de Santiago of Malacca. In 1511, a Portuguese fleet arrived under the command of Afonso De Albuquerque. His forces attacked and successfully defeated the armies of the Malacca Sultanate.
Here are the photos of the place: The fort was almost totally demolished but for the timely intervention of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, who happened to visit Malacca in 1810. Because of his passion for history, this small gate was spared from destruction.
Dutch Square, also called Red Square at Malacca. It is called Red Squared because all of the buildings around it are in red colour. You can see Malaysia Youth Museum, Stadhuys, Christ Church, Queen Victoria Fountain and Tang Beng Swee Clock Tower (built in 1886).

Dutch Square, also known as The Stadthuys, was once a centre of the Dutch administration in Melaka and housed the quarters of its governors and officers. This red building was built between 1641 and 1660 on the ruins of a Portuguese fort, by using imported bricks and is believed to be the oldest Dutch building in the East. The Stadthuys of Malacca (Dutch Town Hall) was the official residence of the Dutch Governor. It now houses the Historic Museum and Ethnography Museum which has many traditional bridal costumes and relics on display.
This photo show Malacca in the 1880s, showing the Christ Church, The Tang Beng Swee Clock Tower, Malaysia Youth Museum and the Stadthuys back then. Sorry couldn't get the close shot at the close range picture is very blur.
Malacca is famous for its history in Malaysia and one of it is The Announcement of Independent of Malaya Federation by the late Tunku Abdul Rahman in 1956 in Malacca.
The picture above show Tunku Abdul Rahman was greeted by people of Malacca upon arriving from London and make its first announcement at The Dataran Pahlawan that Malaya is now free from The British.
The two picture below is taken from The Malacca Museum in Malacca.
A little tip to all... if you are doing the history about Malacca and Malaysia, the Malacca Museum is the place to be. When I was there, I saw a lot of students come to The Malacca Museum to do their projects research.
